A World Record Sandwich: 1,039.94 meter long!!!

A huge crowd and a beautiful sunny day framed the Igor Gorgonzola Guinness record in Bellinzago Novarese: a 1,039.94 meter long sandwich! Longer than one kilometer, an impressive “big snake” of bread and gorgonzola twisting and turning through the streets of the historic city center. Thousands of people enjoyed the Leonardi Gran Riserva, IGOR’s top-of-the-range gorgonzola cheese, which had been spread since early morning hours by an army of volunteers from the Pro Loco of Bellinzago Novarese. To top it off, mulled wine, hot chocolate and free crêpes for everyone. The money collected will be donated to the charity “Foundation of the Community of Novara” for the renovation of the local old church.
