The award ceremony of the Cheese&Consumption Awards was held today in Parma on the occasion of Cibus Connecting Italy 2023.
During the ceremony, Igor Gorgonzola was awarded in the category of BEST SELF-SERVICE PRODUCT PACKAGING with its top-of-the-range GRAN RISERVA LEONARDI IGOR Gorgonzola in the brand new 100% recyclable ECOPACK format, consisting of a customized IML tray and a polypropylene-based mono-material closing film.
The use of this material is the result of a research and development project that the IGOR team has conducted on different plastic materials in order to identify the type that allows the organoleptic and microbiological characteristics typical of gorgonzola to be preserved throughout its commercial life.
The graphics of the new format have been designed to enhance the quality of this Premium Gorgonzola, the craftsmanship of the product and the extreme creaminess that characterizes the Gran Riserva Leonardi IGOR, which we remember is the first Italian cheese to have obtained the LFREE Naturally Lactose-Free Certification from “AILI”, Lacto-Intolerant Association.
The prize was awarded by a jury composed of 91 buyers and operators in the sector.
For Igor Gorgonzola it was a great satisfaction to receive this recognition which attests to the great research by the company not only in terms of high quality of the product offered but also of packaging solutions attentive to environmental sustainability.
