IGOR GORGONZOLA winner of the BEST PERFORMANCE AWARDS 2023 – LARGE COMPANY category
Yesterday, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, the Best Performance Award 2022/2023 award ceremony was held, an initiative of the SDA Bocconi School of Management, the annual award, now in its sixth edition, dedicated to Italian companies that stand out for excellence in the creation of economic, technological, human, social and environmental value. Five prizes were awarded, 3 of which differentiated according to the company size categories (Small, Medium and Large Company) and two special awards: Best Performing Small Company and HOT TOPIC. The common thread of all the awards is focused on corporate welfare and renamed: “WellFare – the company that generates value and social well-being”.
The criteria for awarding the prizes in the categories of Best Performer of the Year, Best Performing Large Company, Best Performing Medium Company and Best Performing Small Company were conducted both on an economic and financial analysis, and on technological innovation and the ability to create value within the company, as well as social and environmental dynamics, founding values of the Best Performance Award.
For the awarding of the Hot Topic Special Prize, the economic and financial analysis weighed only partially and was accompanied by an “ad hoc” survey focused on Corporate Welfare issues.
The award was created by SDA Bocconi in partnership with PwC Italia, the private equity fund EQT, Bureau Van Dijk and the international agency Havas PR Milan , to which this year two new partners of great value have been added: Banca Mediolanum and Fondazione Umberto Veronesi as well as a new media partner, Radio Deejay.
This year, about 600 thousand companies have been surveyed between 15 million and 5 billion euros in turnover. Of these, 1400 virtuous ones were identified and a further selection was made, reaching 96 companies. Of these 96 that made it to the final phase, 18 finalist companies were selected.
IGOR was awarded as the winner in the Best Performing Large Company category.
Receiving the award for IGOR were the Leonardi brothers, Maurizio and Fabio, respectively President and CEO of the company.
“It is really a great satisfaction for us to receive this award, which makes us proud of the years of work and sacrifices made with great tenacity and family union that now sees the entry into the company of the fourth generation. Having innovated and tried to evolve continuously in respect of the ancient dairy tradition handed down to us by our grandfather, has been our strength and differentiating characteristic, thus becoming a trusted supplier for distribution chains all over the world” says Maurizio Leonardi.
“We don’t want to stop here. We want to continue to grow always in the name of environmental sustainability. We already have projects that we will make operational soon to achieve the CARBON FOOTPRINT by 2026 and to create a real CIRCULAR ECONOMY system, becoming an increasingly virtuous company in our sector. Bringing our Gorgonzola everywhere in the world has been our challenge, which we have won and which we want to continue to consolidate, with an eye always attentive to our employees and to the so-called Corporate Social Responsibility, which has seen us engaged for many years in many social, cultural and sporting initiatives in our territory, symbol of GORGONZOLA” concludes Fabio Leonardi.
