For the second consecutive year in London, Igor Gorgonzola’s Piccante Nero – Long Aged has been awarded the prestigious 3-Star Great Taste Award, the highest recognition in the world’s most respected food accreditation programme, reaffirming its position among the finest cheeses on the international stage.
Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, the Great Taste Awards celebrate outstanding food and drink from around the world through a rigorous blind-tasting process conducted by a panel of chefs, buyers, food writers and industry experts. In the 2026 edition, more than 15,000 products were entered, with just 1.8% receiving the coveted 3-Star Award – a distinction reserved for the very best products judged this year.
This latest achievement reflects the consistency of a journey built on carefully selected milk, extended ageing and a cheesemaking tradition that combines expertise, craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Receiving the highest Great Taste distinction once again is a source of great pride for Igor and recognises the dedication of everyone involved throughout the production chain – from dairy farmers and cheesemakers to all those who contribute every day to creating a cheese appreciated by consumers and recognised internationally.
This important achievement further strengthens Igor Gorgonzola’s position among the leading names in international cheesemaking and reflects a production philosophy based on quality, passion and the enhancement of one of Italy’s most iconic cheeses.
