In a Pala Igor animated by 900 spectators, Igor Volley was revealed, effectively opening what will be its tenth season of activity, ninth consecutive in Serie A1. In a festive atmosphere, animated by light shows and the return of the general public (including the many members of the Italian youth sector), which had been missing since before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was also room for surprises, with the moment dedicated to Stefania Sansonna. The former Italian libero announced his farewell to volleyball, after seven seasons lived in the Igor jersey, sharing the news of her pregnancy with the world.

The new game uniforms have also been unveiled, with another nice surprise: if the now “classic” solutions for the first jersey (blue) and for that of the libero (black) are confirmed, the big news is the second jersey, fuchsia (to recall the tradition of Agil Volley) with a special texture.

What we have experienced in the last year and a half has been heavy, difficult, and if we are here today we owe it to those who have made so many sacrifices so that we can overcome the most difficult moments and, above all, because we all still have a great desire for volleyball. For this reason, let’s let ourselves be carried away by enthusiasm and enjoy the most beautiful values of our sport“.

Enrico Marchioni (general manager of Igor Volley Novara): “We start from a group set up in the name of continuity, with few changes grafted onto that team that did so well last year. Knowing the athletes and the staff, this will be a team that will never give up and that will give everything to go all the way in all competitions: we have four goals to pursue, starting with the Super Cup on Saturday 2 October“.

We experienced it at the final of the European Championships, when after a long time we felt the emotion of a full arena… And we can’t wait to experience it every Sunday.”

As long as we recover two concepts that made the difference last year: team and work. If we know how to recover them and take them with us throughout the year then we can do something important“.
