Screaming performance of Igor Volley, which trims a very clear 0-3 to Chieri on the last day of the regular season, legitimizing once again the excellent second place on the grid in view of the championship playoffs. The Azzurre close with 66 points, with 23 wins and only 3 defeats (only 1 of which in the second round), on a par with Conegliano, which however benefits from a better set quotient.
Chieri on the field with Bosio in the direction and Grobelna diagonally, Mazzaro and Alhassan in the center, Frantti and Villani in the band and De Bortoli free; Novara (Montibeller is still out) with Karakurt opposite Hancock, Chirichella and Washington central, Bosetti and Daalderop spikers and Fersino free.
Novara starts strong with two blocks (0-2) and after Karakurt’s soft touch (2-5), Villani reacts (5-6, diagonal) before the blue break that brings Igor to 7-10 with two points in a row by Bosetti. Fersino directs the second line in the best possible way, Bosetti pushes his to 8-15 (winning diagonal) and shortly after come the points of Chirichella in the first half and two of Daalderop that are worth the 9-21 that “breaks” the partial. On Bosetti’s serve (ace, 9-23), the Azzurre approach the finish line, Karakurt closes the score diagonally at 12-25.
The tape helps Chirichella (ace, 2-4) and Karakurt diagonally finds the +3 while Bregoli throws Cazaute into the band; Chieri goes back down (6-7) but Novara extends 6-10 and after the home timeout comes the winning attack of Hancock (7-11) and that of Karakurt for 9-13. Washington makes itself felt at the wall (12-16) and in attack (13-17), Chieri remains in the wake until 18-19, then Daalderop raises his voice to the wall (18-22) and Chirichella finds the ace that secures the set, at 18-23. A winning diagonal by Daalderop closes, for 19-25.
Chieri starts again with Cazaute and Weitzel in the sextet, Bosetti concretizes two great blue defenses (0-1) and then finds the lob of 0-2 while Chieri mends the tear and impacts on 5-5. Karakurt makes a mistake and at 8-6 Lavarini sends Battistoni to the court, while it is Washington, with two consecutive aces, to find the break that reverses the inertia at 8-10; Chirichella blocks Grobelna (11-14), Daalderop repeats on Weitzel (12-16) and shortly after it is the blue captain who realizes a great service with the point of 15-20 that definitively mortgages the match. A couple of blue errors and Chieri tries to come back (19-22) but after Lavarini’s timeout Karakurt diagonally makes it 19-23 and Daalderop wins the match ball diagonally (20-24): Washington closes, fast, on 21-25.

Now we look to the playoffs, in which we start from scratch, with the desire to continue to have fun and to get as far as possible”.

Now everything is reset, the playoffs begin and we bring with us an important path of the regular season, which will serve us to gain confidence and confidence.
